Why I Offer Free End-of-Life Pet Sessions

Because they deserve to be remembered, too.

If you're here, chances are you're facing one of the hardest goodbyes a pet owner can make. First, I just want to say—I see you. I've been there. And I know how deeply animals become part of our families.

That's exactly why I offer end-of-life pet sessions free of charge.

🐾 A Little Backstory

Growing up, I didn’t dream of being a photographer.
I dreamed of being a veterinarian—surrounded by animals, helping them, comforting them, and giving back even a fraction of the love they give us.

After high school, I actually lived that dream for a while—working alongside a family-friend veterinarian. I witnessed firsthand just how emotional the loss of a pet could be. The heartbreak in the exam rooms. The quiet tears. The last goodbyes. It changed me forever.

That experience, combined with my lifelong love for animals, is what planted the seed for these sessions. It’s why this work means so much to me.

🖤 Olive and Our Family

Our Dalmatian, Olive, is living proof of how much a dog can be family. She’s not just a pet—she’s a best friend to my kids, my shadow when I’m editing late, and somehow the calm in our daily chaos.

She’s also become a little local celebrity—bringing comfort, joy, and even a boost of charm when she joins me at vendor events. Watching how she interacts with others (especially kids!) has reminded me over and over just how important these companions are in our lives.

So when I say I get it, I really get it.

Meet Olive. She’s our Dalmatian, our children’s best friend, and the heart of our home. She turned seven this year—and with that came the quiet realization that she’s entering her senior years. It’s part of why I do what I do. These moments matter.

✨ What These Sessions Are (and Aren’t)

End-of-life sessions aren’t photoshoots.
They’re quiet moments preserved.
They’re love documented.
They’re a way to hold on just a little longer.

These sessions are gentle and unhurried, completely led by your pet’s comfort and pace. Whether it’s in your backyard, curled up on the couch, or just sitting together under their favorite tree—I’ll be there, quietly capturing the connection between you.

For horses, that might look like a final brushing, quiet time in the pasture, or even the emotional tradition of cutting and saving their tail. These aren’t just images—they’re heirlooms of the relationship you shared.

💛 Why They’re Free

This isn’t about business.
It’s about legacy, love, and gratitude.

I offer these sessions for free because I’ve seen how important they are. I’ve watched the heartbreak. I’ve lived the bond. And I believe no one should have to choose between capturing their pet’s final days and managing a budget during one of life’s hardest moments.

I’m based in Central Mississippi, and I’m always happy to travel for end-of-life sessions whenever possible. If you’re outside the area, I just ask for reasonable travel reimbursement to help cover time and expenses—but the session itself will always be a gift.

If you ever find yourself needing this, please reach out. I’ll make space—every time.
